GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire women's soccer team won in dramatic fashion on Sunday with a double overtime victory over University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Knox (5-2-2) and the Pioneers headed to halftime scoreless, but Platteville scored a pair of goals early in the second half. The Prairie Fire chipped away at the lead when Jessica Peterson scored at the 68:01 mark. She was assisted by Yvette Rodriguez. Emma McCormick scored the equalizer in the 82
nd minute, Rodriguez again assisted.

With the scored still knotted after the first overtime, it appeared the game would end in a tie. However, Knox pushed the attack and Melissa London found an open Brooklyn Deming for the game-winner in the 107
th minute.

Knox dominated the game in shots, firing off 25 to the Pioneers' seven. The Prairie Fire also held a 15-5 advantage in shots on goal.

"We have talked a lot about resiliency this year and we found ourselves down two goals today. I am most proud that we found the strength to dig deep and come back from that and find a winner."

Knox will return to conference play when they host Ripon on September 29 for Family and Friends Weekend. A special ceremony will take place before the games to dedicate the newly renovated Jorge Prats Field.
