Knox and the Pioneers played to a scoreless tie through the first half, despite chances on both sides.

The Prairie Fire took control in the second half, outshooting Grinnell 13-3. Olivia Grierson broke the tie in the 72
nd minute thanks to an excellent pass by Alyx Farris.

Knox outshot the Pioneers 18-5 on the day, including a 10-2 advantage in shots on goal.

"We are really happy with our result today," said head coach Taylor Houck. "We worked hard and battled for a full 90 minutes. Grinnell is a very talented team that presented us with new problems to solve and I am pleased with the adjustments we made."

The Prairie Fire will host Beloit on October 19 for Family and Friends Weekend.
