JACKSONVILLE, Illinois – The Prairie Fire women's tennis team dropped a conference match to Illinois College 2-7 on Wednesday.

Bhumika Gupta won her ninth singles match of the season with a 6-3, 6-4 victoy at #1 singles.

"I am so proud of Bhumika," said head coach Meredith Witherell. "She has had an amazing season once again."

Laurel Stugart also won 6-4, 0-6, 10-5 at #4 singles.

Grace Kostopoulos played a very tough match at #3 singles, falling 5-7, 3-6.

Gupta and Himani Patel played a close 4-8 match at #1 singles.

Knox will return to action at the Midwest Conference Championships on October 19 in Madison, Wisconsin.
