MONMOUTH, Illinois—The Prairie Fire football team lost to Monmouth 31-3 on Saturday in the 131
st Annual Turkey Bowl.

Monmouth scored first, but Knox responded with a field goal by Preston Lade to cut the Fighting Scots lead to 7-3 at the end of the first quarter.

Monmouth scored twice more in the second quarter to take a 21-3 lead into halftime.
Â
The Fighting Scots added another touchdown early in the third quarter to expand their lead and tacked on a field goal in the fourth quarter to conclude the scoring.

Ean Rau led the Prairie Fire defense with nine tackles and a sack. Jeremiah Matthews and Kendall Ballman each added nine tackles. Ballman also forced a fumble, along with Hunter Baquet, Corey Schunke, Daniel Rodriguez, and Brandon Scott.

Knox returns to action on November 16 as they host Beloit in the North/South Crossover.
