Volleyball Falls to Lincoln Christian in Five Sets

Box Score LINCOLN, Illinois - The Prairie Fire volleyball team dropped a non-conference match to Lincoln Christian in five sets on Tuesday night.

Knox won the first set 25-20, but the Lions won the next two to take a 2-1 lead. The Prairie Fire won the fourth set 25-16 and held an early lead in the fifth set, but Lincoln Christian came back to win the set 15-12.

Catessa Duran led Knox with 19 kills and four blocks. Emme Patton racked up 26 digs. Caroline Wolters chipped in 10 kills for a .333 attack percentage. Katie Anderson added 14 digs and 14 assists. Kaitlyn Haase picked up 19 digs and eight kills. Autumn Schneider also had seven kills and five blocks.

"We had spurts of very solid play tonight," said head coach Pat Barry. "However, we followed those spurts up with lapses. Credit to Lincoln Christian, they stayed the course and just outlasted us."

The Prairie Fire return to action on October 22 as they host conference opponent Ripon.
