JACKSONVILLE , Illinois - The Prairie Fire volleyball team competed at the Illinois College Tournament on Saturday.
Knox fell to Rose-Hulman in five sets. The Prairie Fire won the first two sets 25-18 and 25-23, but dropped three sets in a row to the Fightin' Engineers 18-25, 16-25, 13-25.
Knox also lost to Concordia Chicago 7-25, 15-25, 21-25 in the second match of the day.
Catessa Duran picked up 25 kills between the two matches to lead the Prairie Fire. Katie Anderson led the team with 27 assists and Allie Dockins added 29 digs.
"We had Rose-Hulman on the ropes," said head coach Pat Barry. "We played very well those first two sets, but it just slipped away from us. We played some very good competition this weekend that should set us up well for conference play."
Knox returns to action on September 7 as they travel to Iowa Wesleyan.
