INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Prairie Fire women's soccer team dropped another close 2-1 matchup to Simpson College on Wednesday night.
Simpson College started off strong and took the lead in the first seven minutes with quick goal. Knox held back the Simpson offense the rest of the half. Simpson outshot Knox 9-2 in the first half and the Prairie Fire went into the half down by one.
Knox came back ready to play in the second half. Fifth-year, Brooklyn Deming kicked off the second half with an early goal to tie up the game. Simpson and Knox went back and forth the rest of the half to force the game into overtime. Simpson finished the game in the first overtime ended the game 2-1.
"Although this was not the result we wanted, I am very pleased with the changes we made going into the second half. We had a lot of great moments in the second half and have a lot we can learn from this game." said Head Coach, Taylor Houck.
The Prairie Fire women's soccer team return to action on Saturday September 11
th at home against Hope College.
