DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Prairie Fire volleyball team dropped a pair of matches to North Central College and the University of Dubuque on Saturday.
Knox fell to the Cardinals 18-25, 15-25, 12-25 in the morning match.
Peyton Balfour racked up eight kills to lead the Prairie Fire. Abbie Layne added six kills. Katie Anderson picked up 18 assists, eight digs, a block, and an ace.
The Spartans defeated Knox 25-12, 25-20, 25-20 in the afternoon match.
Katie Anderson again led the Prairie Fire with 18 assists. Catessa Duran added seven kills and Kaitlyn Kashishian chipped in 10 digs.
"We had a tought road trip to begin the year, but we also played very well at times," said head coach Pat Barry. "I think we have a chance to go on a winning streak here soon if we keep at it and improve on the things that we know we can. We still have a long season left."
Knox returns to action on September 6 when they travel to Principia College.
