BELOIT, Wisconsin - The Prairie Fire volleyball team picked up a 3-0 conference victory at Beloit on Friday night.

The Buccaneers jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the first set, but Knox rallied back to take a 12-8 lead. The Prairie Fire took control from there and won the first set 25-14.

In set number two, Beloit held an 11-8 advantage in the early going. Knox proceeded to finish on a 17-9 run to earn the second set victory.

The Prairie Fire and the Buccaneers played to an 8-8 tie to begin the third set, but Knox went on a 17-10 run to close out the set and the match in decisive fashion.

Allie Dockins led the Prairie Fire with 12 kills while adding a pair of blocks and nine digs. Abbie Layne racked up 11 kills and two blocks. Chiho Okada tallied 29 assists and 14 digs. Emme Patton added 22 digs.

"This was a great team victory," said interim head coach Lisa Olson. "We put together a game plan and executed it to perfection. All of the things we have been working on finally clicked and we were able to play a strong match. Allie and Abbie have been rock stars at the net in the last few weeks and Chiho is really coming along."

Knox will return to action on October 14 as they continue their road trip at Grinnell.
