GALESBURG, IL - Women's soccer dropped a close one with Beloit Saturday afternoon. The Buccaneers defeated the Prairie Fire 1-0.
The first half concluded with no goals scored from either team.
In the second half, both teams worked hard to get on the board, but ultimately the Bucs were able to score first in the 57th minute. Beloit managed to hold off the Fire for the remainder of the game, and ended up taking the 1-0 win.
The Buccaneers outshot the Prairie Fire 20-2 overall with a 10-2 advantage in shots on goal.
Carina Escobar tallied nine save in the goal for the Prairie Fire.
"We played very well today and things are definitely coming together for us" said Head Coach Annie Gerdes. "Im very proud of how we played on the defensive side of the ball today and we worked hard for all 90 minutes. We have lots of good things happening on the field for us and each game we are getting better and with that we are pumped to take on Monmouth next week."
The Prairie Fire will travel to Monmouth on October 18th for their next match-up with the Scots.
