Football Picks Scott Crawford for 12th Man Award

GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire football team will recognize Scott Crawford, Executive Director of Career Development through the Bastian Family Center for Career Success for their 12th Man Award on Saturday. Each Prairie Fire athletic team is selecting a different Knox College Faculty or Staff member to celebrate as having a significant impact on their team and the Athletic Department.

Scott has over 25 years of experience in career services at a variety of colleges and universities including Johns Hopkins, George Washington, Wabash College, Adrian College, Wichita State, Valdosta State and University of Missouri-Kansas City. A University of Arkansas graduate, enjoys planting things, fixing up old houses, traveling and entertaining his three rowdy dogs.

"From the moment I connected with Scott he has been all in to assist our football program in any capacity," said head football coach Aaron Willits. "We do a career development workshop in fall camp to have all our players get into his office and be thinking ahead. He shares specific job and internship listings he thinks will appeal to our roster. He has recruited members of our team to join his staff as Peer Career Leaders. And today, like previous Saturdays this fall, he meets with recruits and families visiting campus to talk about the relationship between his office and the football program. I greatly appreciate all he does for our program."

Scott will be recognized before the football game on October 7 and will join the Prairie Fire captains on the field for the coin toss as an honorary captain.

"Scott is so invested in our team," added senior line backer Kolton Krutsinger. "I look at him as another coach, but off the field. He goes out of his way for any of us to find the opportunities we are looking for. He has an open door policy and isn't afraid to hold us accountable!"

Senior defensive back Arthur Anthony, Jr. stated, "His investment starts in fall camp with the professional development sessions and extends into every individual meeting when we are in the office with him."
