FULTON, Missouri - The Prairie Fire women's basketball team picked up a 114-105 triple overtime victory over Westminster on Saturday afternoon.
The Bluejays took an early 7-2 lead, but Knox rallied to take a 20-16 lead after the first quarter.
The Prairie Fire maintained their advantage through the second quarter to take a 34-30 lead into halftime.
Knox took a 46-35 lead midway through the third period, but Westminster trailed just 54-53 by the time the fourth quarter began.
The Bluejays took a 59-58 lead with 7:32 to play and the teams traded leads throughout the rest of the quarter to force overtime.
Westminster took a 79-76 lead in the first overtime, but Loraya Rocha hit a jumper at the buzzer to force a second overtime period.
The Prairie Fire took a 101-98 lead with 26 seconds left in the second overtime, but the Bluejays hit a three-pointer to send the game to a third overtime.
It was all Knox from there as they outscored Westminster 13-4 to claim the hard fought victory.
Sarina Dacio led the Prairie Fire with 29 points, including 17 points in overtime. Kylee Callahan racked up 24 points and 10 rebounds and Rocha tallied 22 points and 15 boards. Bria Medina chipped in 17 points and Nyah Daniels added 13 points. Brianna Arizmendi also grabbed 12 rebounds.
"We just kept playing the entire game," said head coach Seth McDowell. "Sarina and Loraya really turned it up in OT to give us the chance to finish strong. This was a gutsy performance that allowed to us to come away with a great team win!"
Knox will return to action on November 13 as they host Principia.
