GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire volleyball team dropped at 3-0 match to No. 24 Cornell for Senior Night on Friday night. Knox honored their five seniors before the match: Olivia Hukel, Emma Curry, Peyton Balfour, Maya McEwen, and Chiho Okada.

The Rams jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the first set, but the Prairie Fire worked it back to just a 13-10 deficit midway through. Cornell held on for the 25-16 victory.

In the second set, Knox held an early 4-3 lead. The Rams used a five point run to take an 8-4 lead. The Prairie Fire trailed just 16-11 in the middle of the set, but Cornell finished strong again with a 25-15 win.

Knox trailed 11-6 in the third set, but the Rams used a 14-1 run to take control and claim the set 25-7.

Allie Dockins led the Prairie Fire with five kills on the night. Maya McEwen and Abbie Layne tallied two blocks apiece. Emme Patton added 13 digs and Olivia Hukel chipped in 12 assists and 11 digs.

"I am so proud of these players and wish the seniors the best of luck," said interim head coach Lisa Olson. "It was a privilege to coach this team and these seniors and the rest of the team showed perseverance and dedication throughout."
