DECATUR, IL - Prairie Fire volleyball dropped two Saturday afternoon during their final games of the Millikin Tournament.
Knox dropped their first match to Capital University 3-1. Capital managed to take the first set, but the Prairie Fire came back to take the second. The Comets then went on to take the next two sets to earn their 3-1 victory. The Fire continued with another match against Hanover College for their final game of the tournament. The Panthers defeated the Fire 3-0.
Abbie Layne earned 11 kills against Capital, while Emme Patton picked up 21 assists. Chiho Okada added 16 digs. Peyton Balfour chipped in three solo blocks.Â
Against Hanover, Allie Dockins racked up 8 kills. Patton tallied 17 assists and 12 digs.
"We never gave up today, we worked hard and definitely had some highlights and good stretches of play" said Head Coach Lonnie Rinell. "We are getting better each day and we are taking this weekend as an opportunity to learn and grow."
The Prairie Fire will return to play for a home match in Memorial Gym against Central College on September 27th.
