Women's Soccer falls to Coe College

GALESBURG, IL - The Knox College women's soccer team dropped a match to Coe College 3-1 Saturday afternoon.

The Prairie Fire celebrated six seniors this afternoon. Carina Escobar, Alex Halleck, Rosalie Ross, Lia Villanueva, Kasey Snyder, and Sarach McCraken have all left a lasting mark on Knox College Soccer and will be greatly missed.

The Kohawks scored first with a penalty kick in minute thirty-seven. Coe led 1-0 going into the half.

Coe added two more goals in the second half, giving them a 3-0 lead with just over fifteen minutes of play left.

Emily Jacobs found Aleene Ramirez in the 83rd minute to give the Prairie Fire their first goal of the season.

Escobar tallied ten saves in the goal for the day.

"We came out to play today and I am so excited that we were able to get our first goal of the season on senior day" said Head Coach Annie Gerdes. "We played aggressive today and it payed off. I have no doubt that if we continue to play like we did today there will be a lot more goals in our future."

The Prairie Fire will return to play on September 26th for their first conference match-up against Grinnell.
