GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire men's basketball team dropped a Midwest Conference game to Lake Forest 73-62 on Saturday afternoon for Basketball Homecoming.
The Foresters jumped out to an early 25-10 lead in the first half. Knox chipped away at the lead, but still trailed 31-20 at halftime.
The Prairie Fire pulled to within five points early in the second half, but Lake Forest rallied to retake the double digit lead. The Foresters maintained their lead throughout the rest of the half to earn the victory.
Sean Gallery led Knox with 19 points on 7-of-14 shooting. He also racked up nine rebounds. Andrew Milot tallied 12 points and six assists. Chikere Nwosu added 11 points and Cole Andrews put up 10 points and pulled down seven boards.
"Lake Forest put us on our heels from the get go today," said head coach Ben Davis. "We had to play from behind early and just never got in a perfect rhythm."
Knox will return to action on January 23 as they travel to Grinnell.
