LAKE FOREST, Illinois - The Prairie Fire women's basketball team earned a 90-66 win over Lake Forest on Wednesday night.
The Foresters led 9-4 early in the opening quarter, but Knox finished the quarter on a 27-9 run to take a commanding 31-18 lead.
The Prairie Fire outscored Lake Forest 27-17 in the second period to expand the lead to 58-35 by halftime.
Knox cruised through the second half to pick up the 24 point victory.
Sarina Dacio racked up 27 points to lead the Prairie Fire. Bria Medina added 19 points on a perfect 8-for-8 showing from the field. She added five rebounds and four assists. Kylee Callahan tallied 18 points, six assists, and five rebounds.
"We have really been playing well since a tough loss to Ripon in early December," said head coach Seth McDowell. "We still have a long way to go, but if we keep playing like this we will continue to win games."
Knox will return to action on January 9 as they travel to Illinois College.
