GRINNELL, Iowa — The Midwest Conference announced its weekly volleyball award winners this afternoon, and Knox College outside hitter Caroline Wolters was named the Offensive Performer of the Week. She is the first Prairie Fire player to earn this honor since Catessa Duran on Sept. 20, 2022.
Wolters, a senior from Ames, Iowa, enjoyed her time on her home court in Memorial Gymnasium last week, helping the Prairie Fire win consecutive games for the first time in two years. First was a four-set victory over Eureka College, and she provided 17 kills with a .324 attack percentage and a career-best 30 digs to the team's efforts. On Saturday, her 13 kills and digs carried Knox to another four-set win, this time against Midwest Conference foe Ripon, capped by a thrilling 29-27 decision in the fourth set.
Wolters leads the Prairie fire with 155 kills on the year and is only nine behind junior teammate Sam Black for the lead in digs with 212.
Knox (3-18, 2-3 MWC) concludes its six-game home stand on Wednesday evening when it hosts another Midwest Conference foe in Monmouth College (17-9, 5-1 MWC) at 7 p.m. Live video and stats will be available through the official website of Knox College Athletics, PrairieFire.Knox.edu.
