GALESBURG, Ill. — The College Sports Communicators announced its Academic All-District Teams for women's volleyball across each of the NCAA Divisions and NAIA, and Knox College had two players earn recognition for Division III in senior Caroline Wolters and sophomore Lydia Karli.

A math and secondary education major from Ames, Iowa, Wolters starred for the Prairie Fire this past fall on the court. The outside hitter not only led the team with 173 kills, she nearly topped the squad with 248 digs, finishing second only by 10. She posted a career-high 20 kills in a match against Rockford University, and nine days later recorded a personal-best 30 digs in a victory over Eureka. Five times Wolters has been named to an Academic All-Midwest Conference Team as a two-sport athlete (track and field), and his past fall she was named the MWC Offensive Performer of the Week.

Karli, a biology and environmental science major from Austin, Texas, was recognized for her play early in the season when she was named to the Millikin All-Tournament Team. The middle blocker and right-side player finished the year third on the team with 95 kills and fourth with 29 blocks. Against Rockford, she set a career-high with 11 kills, and she registered six blocks in a three-set match against IIT. She and Wolters were two of the three players on the team that started all 25 matches this fall.

To be considered for Academic All-District honors, a soccer player must be in at least a sophomore academically and athletically, have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have played in at least 90 percent of their team's games or started at least 66 percent of the contests.
