BELOIT, Wisconsin - The Prairie Fire women's basketball team dropped a Midwest Conference game to Beloit 84-71 on Saturday.

Knox jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter and led 23-19 heading into the second.

The Buccaneers outscored the Prairie Fire 21-13 in the second period to take a 40-36 lead at halftime.

Knox rallied out of halftime to take a 47-42 lead in the third quarter, but Beloit responded with a 16-6 run to take a 58-53 lead into the final period.

The Prairie Fire used an 11-2 run to take a 64-60 lead early in the final quarter, but the Buccaneers outscored Knox 24-7 the remainder of the game to secure the win.

Nyah Daniels led the Prairie Fire with 25 points and eight rebounds. Bria Medina tallied 13 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Kylee Callahan added 10 points and eight rebounds.

"This was a game of runs and Beloit got their final run at the right time," said head coach Seth McDowell. "We played very well at times, but came up just short in the end."

Knox will return to action on February 14 as they host Illinois College.
