MONMOUTH, Ill. — At the Midwest Invitational hosted by Monmouth College on Friday evening, Knox College had quite a few athletes set personal records and stake claims in the top-10 Prairie Fire annals, led by senior Jacob Anderson who won the men's 60 meter hurdles.

Five teams competed at the event, and Anderson bested two runners from the host school to win the 60 meter hurdles in 9.29 seconds. That time beat his PR set last week by more than a tenth of a second, making him the 10th fastest athlete in the event in program history but fastest among those without a converted time from 55 meters.

Another senior, Anthony Vazquez, claimed second in the men's triple jump with a distance of 12.60 meters (41 feet 4.25 inches), less than a foot shy of his personal best.

In the men's 60 meters, first-year Jayvon Bolds finished fourth in the finals with a time of 7.23 seconds.

A pair of men's throwers set PRs in their respective events as junior Steve Dzolic hurled the weight throw 14.06 meters (46 feet 1.5 inches), which left him ninth in the event seventh and seventh n the Knox record books. First-year Colson Elisme heaved the shot put 12.52 meters (41 feet 1 inch), also good for ninth place.

In the women's events, senior Franny Hilliard had the highest finish, taking fifth in the mile run with her time of 5:48.12 to debut in eighth in the Prairie Fire top-10.

Sophomore Stephanie Nelson extended her personal best in the weight throw once again, sending it more than a foot farther at 44 feet 5.5 inches (13.55 meters), leaving her a little more than two feet from the school record.
