JACKSONVILLE, Illinois – There were plenty of highlights for the Knox College indoor track and field program at Friday night's Hilltop Classic at Illinois College in Jacksonville.
Delylah Briscoe led the way, finishing second in the women's high jump. Briscoe's best effort of 1.45 meters placed her ninth in Knox College's all-time program record and tied her season-best.
Another strong performance for the Knox women came from Darby Wallig. Wallig had a throw of 12.08 meters in the women's weight throw to finish 14th at the meet and seventh in Knox's record book.
Also in the field events, Colson Elisme had a big effort for the Prairie Fire men in the weight throw. Elisme's throw of 14.36 meters moved him eighth in program history and placed him 16th at the meet.
On the track, Elsie Conwell continued her strong season with a 2.29.37 in the 800. Her time placed her 10th in Knox's record book and placed her 10th at the meet.
In the women's long jump, a pair of Knox women had top 10 performances. Zoe Thunhurst was fifth overall with a best lead of 4.58 meters. Altyna Ruslanova was seventh, jumping a best of 4.33 meters.
Thunhurst also had a seventh in the shot with a best of 10.81 meters, while Stephanie Nelson was eighth with a 10.72 meters.
Nelson was also eighth in the weight throw with a best of 14.03 meters.
For the men in the weight throw, Stevan Dzolic was eighth with a 14.57 meters.
On the track, Ryan Lautzenhiser was sixth in the 400 meters, finishing in 52.87. Lautzenhiser was eighth in the 200, finishing in 23.54.
For the women, Lily Cuddy qualified for the finals, finishing eighth in the 60-meter hurdles in 12.00.
