GALESBURG, Ill. — The Knox College athletics department today revealed its Male and Female Athletes of the Week for events that occurred between Dec. 1-7, with the awards going to sophomore Noah Campbell of the men's basketball team and junior Bria Medina of the women's basketball squad.

Campbell, a 5-10 sophomore point guard from Villa Park, Illinois, led the offensive effort in the 77-65 Midwest Conference victory over Lawrence University last Tuesday, scoring a season- and game-high 17 points on 6-of-12 field goals, plus hauled in six rebounds and dished out a trio of assists without turning the ball over even once. Three of those shots were from the perimeter, and he also converted both of his free throw attempts to keep the Vikings at bay down the stretch. He added seven points against Monmouth on Saturday as well. The transfer from McHenry County College leads the Prairie Fire in steals (9) and free throw percentage (.789) while ranking second in scoring (12.4 ppg) and assists (18).

A 5-6 junior from Tucson, Arizona, Medina earned this honor for the third time already this season as she has scored at least 20 points in each of the first seven contests and ranks second nationally in scoring (27.0 ppg). In a loss against Lawrence on Tuesday, she tallied 20 points while playing all 40 minutes. Four days later, she was unstoppable in an 88-52 triumph over Monmouth, pouring in 31 points — her third 30-point game of the season and fifth of her career — on 10-of-13 from the floor (.789) and a perfect 11-of-11 at the foul line. The last Prairie Fire to convert that many free throws without a miss was Jarrelyn McCall against Lake Forest in January of 2018. Medina was also named the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week for her exploits.

The Knox Athletes of the Week will be announced every Tuesday afternoon throughout the athletic calendar.
