GALESBURG, Ill. — The Knox College women's basketball team learned their fate via a Facebook Live video in which the coin flip did not fall in its favor. The Midwest Conference commissioner, Heather Benning, flipped a coin while attending the league's swimming and diving championships, and the coin came up heads, which meant Cornell College won the right to be the fourth seed at the conference tournament hosted by Ripon College next weekend.

The Prairie Fire finished the season 15-10 overall and 10-6 in the league, but the coin flip ended a streak of six consecutive appearances at the conference tournament.
