GALESBURG, Ill. ­— With just over three months before the 2025 Knox College football season kicks off, the team announced its complete fall schedule with an eye on moving up the Midwest Conference standings.

The Prairie Fire will have their usual slate of nine conference games following their season opener on Sept. 6 in the 11th Lincoln Bowl at Eureka College. The two teams vie for a bronze bust of a young Abraham Lincoln, donated by former Governor Jim Edgar, and Knox will attempt to keep the trophy after defeating the Red Devils in Galesburg last year, 7-6.

The home opener and first MWC showdown will take place the following weekend, Sept. 13, with Ripon College in town. The Prairie Fire have their sights set on avenging last year's tight 24-17 defeat at Hopp Stadium.

Homecoming will take place on Oct. 11 at Stisser Field at the Knosher Bowl with Grinnell College on the docket. The Pioneers spoiled last year's homecoming festivities and snapped Knox's personal seven-game winning streak against Grinnell, but the Fire will be anxious to start another streak of success against their league rival.

The season will conclude with the annual Bronze Turkey Game with Monmouth College, to be played at the Fighting Scots' Zorn Memorial Stadium on Nov. 15. These two teams have met 136 times on the gridiron — a total surpassed at the Division III level only by the Amherst-Williams rivalry (138).
