GALESBURG, Ill. — Knox College Women's Soccer Head Coach Annie Gerdes announced the schedule for her Prairie Fire team this fall today, featuring 10 regional games and the usual eight within the Midwest Conference.
After a scrimmage at the University of Dubuque on Aug. 23, the season begins in earnest at Millikin University on Aug. 29. The home opener will take place on Sept. 6 with Aurora University in town, and Senior Day will be celebrated the following Saturday, Sept. 13, as Knox hosts Franklin College.
The Prairie Fire will be thrown right into the fire for the start of league play as they travel to Lake Forest College, the defending regular-season co-champion, on Sept. 27. All remaining games, except one last non-conference showdown at Elmhurst University on Oct. 22, will be against MWC foes, including home games against rival Monmouth College on Oct. 8 and Grinnell College for the season finale on Nov. 1.
Should Knox finish the season in the top four in the league standings, it will advance to the Midwest Conference Tournament, hosted by the regular-season champion, on Nov. 7-8.
