Prairie Fire Drop Home Contest to Rams

Box Score Cornell edged the Prairie Fire, women 69-63 on Tuesday night in Galesburg.  Knox drops to 5-9 overall, 4-2 in the Midwest Conference. 

Cornell led by as many as 12 in the third quarter. Although the Prairie Fire chipped away at the deficit, they never drew closer than five points.

Erin Knowles led Cornell with 34 points on 9-16 shooting. Cornell shot 20-48 (41.7 percent); Knox shot 19-53 (35.8 percent).

Points off turnovers proved key. While Cornell turned 21 Prairie Fire miscues into 25 points, Knox managed just 10 points from the Rams' 17 errors.

Bria Medina led the way for Knox, scoring a team-high 22 points. Alongside her, Kylee Callahan added 12, and Izzy Robinson contributed 10, also grabbing eight rebounds. Nayeli Nidez Acuna finished with eight points and nine rebounds, while Carly Smith scored seven. Notably, Medina also had a team-high five assists. 

Looking ahead, Knox College is next in action on Saturday, hosting Lake Forest at 3 p.m.
