Knox Scores Dominant Road Win at Beloit

Prairie Fire win second straight

BELOIT, Wis. - The Knox College women's basketball team was dominant on Wednesday night, claiming a road win at Beloit, 83-51.

The Prairie Fire (5-8, 4-1 MWC) led for all but 11 seconds, building a margin as large as 37 points. The win was the second straight for the squad.

Bria Medina, nearing the program's all-time scoring record, scored 20 points and added four steals. She is now 140 points behind Jarrelyn McCall's Knox record of 1372 points.

Medina had support, as several Prairie Fire players scored. Brook Pieper had her best Knox game with career-highs in points (20), minutes (22), field goals made (9), and attempts (13). She also led the team with nine rebounds.

Nayeli Nidez Acuña contributed 19 points, seven rebounds, three blocks, and four steals. Meanwhile, Kylee Callahan added nine points, four rebounds, and a team-best seven assists.

Knox started strong, racing to a 9-1 lead in the first minutes and finishing the quarter up 25-5. They extended the lead to 45-19 at halftime.

Knox maintained control in the second half, leading 65-36 after three quarters.

The Knox defense excelled, holding Beloit to 27 percent shooting (17-63) and forcing 24 turnovers. Prairie Fire turned those into 27 points and 27 fast-break points, also outrebounding Beloit 47-31 and outscoring them 58-20 in the paint.
