On Wednesday, the Midwest Conference released its preseason poll for the 2026 baseball season. Knox College was projected seventh, tying with Cornell College with 13 points.

Beloit College was announced as the preseason favorite, earning 48 points and six of the eight first-place votes.

The Prairie Fire are coming off a 15-23 season and a 7-14 conference campaign. The 15 overall victories were the most for Knox College since winning 17 in 2017.

Knox College opens the season on Saturday, February 28, at Anderson University, playing a pair of games. Knox's first home varsity baseball contest comes Saturday, March 28, vs. Grinnell College. The season marks the head coaching debut for Drake Sykes '17.
