GALESBURG, ILL. - The Prairie Fire returned to the pitch to take on Millikin in their 2026 debut and displayed some brilliant moments despite losing 5-0.

Knox's defense kept them within striking distance throughout the first half after surrendering an early goal less than ten minutes into the contest.

Bri Mahoney and the defense kept the Big Blue forwards at bay for a majority of the first half, doing a great job keeping the ball in front of them and making big saves when needed.

Millikin tacked on two quick goals to open the second half, making it 3-0, but Knox's disciplined defense answered the bell again going 30 minutes without letting another goal slip in. The Big Blue ended up tacking on another pair of goals in the final ten minutes to leave Galesburg with a 5-0 win over the Prairie Fire.

Asia Ling and Gwendolynn Stewart stood strong on the backline for Knox throughout the contest coming up with steals left and right.

Mahoney finished the match with 12 saves on 17 opportunities.
