MT. VERNON, IOWA - On the road at Cornell, Knox jumped out to a two goal lead in the first 10 minutes of the contest and tacked on one more in the second half to take down Cornell 3-0.
The Prairie Fire hopped off the bus and instantly gained a two goal lead as Sophia Gordoa and Aniela Rossi both netted goals in the opening 10 minutes.
Knox made Cornell's keeper work in the first half as she tallied six saves. Bri Mahoney was also up to the test as she kept four shots from going in the back of the Prairie Fire goal.
The Prairie Fire lived on the offensive end of the pitch as they racked up 26 shots throughout the afternoon.
Analeis Ming scored in the 58th minute off of an assist from Ellie Henderson to give Knox a three goal lead.
Mahoney and the Knox defense was able to hold on to their shutout as they brought home a 3-0 win over Cornell to stay undefeated in MWC play.
The win improves Knox's record to 5-4-0 (3-0-0 MWC) and they will return to the pitch on Tuesday afternoon at Beloit at 4:00 p.m.
