BELOIT, WIS. - On the road for a Midwest Conference match, the Prairie Fire offense could not find a goal as Beloit was able to steal a 1-0 win over Knox.
Knox was able to put four shots on goal in the first half, but the Beloit goalkeeper was up for the test as she denied all of them. Darby Wallig was only challenged once in the first half and she was able to pick up the lone save of the frame.
After halftime, Beloit flipped the script. They were creating chances and forcing Wallig to make saves. They put six shots on goal in the second half, and were able to sneak one into the goal in the 65th minute.
Beloit kept Knox at bay in the second half, not allowing a single shot on goal and pulling off a 1-0 victory over the Prairie Fire.
The loss at Beloit ends Knox's three game win streak. The Prairie Fire had not lost since September 15 when they took on the eighth ranked team in the region in Illinois Wesleyan.
Knox will go to .500 on the season at 5-5-0 and pick up their first loss in MWC play. They will return to the pitch on Saturday afternoon, when they take on Lawrence following the men's game at 11:00 a.m.
