After their loss to Carroll University, the Prairie Fire lost a 3-1 decision on Sunday at Ripon College.
The Red Hawks (4-11, 3-4 MWC), which snapped a three-match losing streak, scored all of their goals in the first 90 minutes. Rachel Martzahl was a major factor with two goals.
Knox avoided the shutout when sophomore Lauren Bradley (Manchester, New Hampshire) scored her first goal of the season, assisted by junior Emma Swanson (West Des Moines, Iowa), at the 77:04 mark of the match.
Ripon outshot the Prairie Fire (6-10, 1-6 MWC) 24-15 overall and 14-10 on goal.
Knox has two more matches to play, both Midwest Conference contests, this season. The first is Saturday during Homecoming against Beloit College (3-10-1, 0-5-1 MWC) at Jorge Prats Field at 1:00 p.m. The season finale is Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Monmouth College (7-5-3, 3-2-1 MWC).
