Arielle Dorman '13A late goal made Knox College a winner in a Midwest Conference match against Beloit College on a day the Prairie Fire recognized its two seniors and the College celebrated Homecoming.

Sophomore forward Arielle Dorman (Bothell, Washington) scored her seventh goal of the season, assisted by junior Emma Swanson (West Des Moines, Iowa), at the 72:45 mark of the match to help lead Knox past the Buccaneers 1-0.  The win ended a string of three straight losses by the Fire (7-10, 2-6 MWC).

First-year goalie Rachael Koene (Golden Valley, Minnesota) had four saves against Beloit and recorded her second shutout of the season, both in conference matches.  She previously blanked Illinois College in the net October 9, when Knox also won 1-0.  She is the first goalie in over a decade to post two league shutouts for the Prairie Fire.

Beloit outshot Knox in the match 16-12.  The Prairie Fire got off one more shot on goal than the Bucs, 5-4.

The match marked the last appearances at Jorge Prats Field for Knox seniors Kate McManus (Waterloo, Illinois) and Kathryn Sain (Portland, Oregon).  The duo was sent off a winner during Knox College's Homecoming festivities.

Knox plays its season finale Wednesday at rival Monmouth College (8-5-3, 4-2-1 MWC).  The Scots have had success on their home field, posting a 5-3-1 record.  The Prairie Fire owns a 4-3 record in road matches.
