Knox lost Saturday's match at home against Grinnell (2-6, 1-1) after falling behind 2-0 at the half.

Swanson got the Prairie Fire on the board with a goal from the right side at the 63:32 mark to cut the Pioneers' lead to 2-1.  Grinnell's Patty Murphy-Geiss scored both of her team's goals up to that point, which proved to be enough for the visitors.  The Pioneers' added their third and final goal at 65:59, scored by Hannah Safter.

Grinnell outshot the Prairie Fire 19-15 in the match.  Only six of Knox's shots were on goal to the Pioneers' 16.  First-year goalie Rachael Koene (Golden Valley, Minnesota) recorded 13 saves for the hosts.  Knox College's other MWC loss was a 5-0 setback September 4 against Lake Forest College.  The Foresters, as of September 26, sit atop the MWC standings at 4-0 -- including a 7-2 overall record.

The Prairie Fire has a big weekend coming up with a pair of home matches against Midwest Conference foes and the chance to move up in the standings with wins.

The first match is Saturday at 11:00 a.m. against Lawrence University (3-5, 2-1 MWC).   St. Norbert College (2-7, 1-2 MWC), with league losses against Lawrence and Lake Forest, visits Jorge Prats Field on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
