Appleton, WI – The Prairie Fire has dropped its first two Midwest Conference matches after a 4-1 loss to Lawrence University on Sunday.

The Vikings (3-4, 2-0 MWC) led 1-0 at the intermission on a goal at 18:27.  Lawrence added three more goals in the 50th, 55th, and 64th minutes to increase the lead to 4-0 before Knox (0-5, 0-2 MWC) got on the board.

Senior Arielle Dorman (Bothell, WA, Inglemoor) scored her first goal of the season off of a volley into the box from sophomore Delsey Ramirez (Highland Park, IL, Highland Park) at the 76:40 mark.

The Vikings held a 26-6 shots advantage, including 17-5 on goal.  Junior goalie Rachael Koene (Golden Valley, MN, Benilde-St. Margaret's) had 13 saves for the Prairie Fire.

Knox resumes play at MacMurray College (0-6) in Jacksonville on September 16.   The teams will play for the Ferris Trophy beginning at 2:00 p.m.
