Beloit Slips Past Women's Soccer Team

Beloit, WI – The Prairie Fire held the Beloit College offense in check, allowing just one goal, but that was the difference in a 1-0 Midwest Conference setback against the Buccaneers on Sunday.

Knox and Beloit played a scoreless first 45:00 of the match.  The Buccaneers (3-13-1, 1-7-1 MWC) broke the tie with a goal at the 58:24 mark.  The Prairie Fire (6-10, 0-9 MWC) were unable send a shot on target at Beloit goalie Alex Spirov the remainder of the contest.

The Buccaneers finished the match with 17 total shots while Knox took two.  Senior Rachael Koene (Golden Valley, MN, Benilde-St. Margaret's) had a strong game in goal for the Prairie Fire, stopping six of the seven shots that came at her.

Knox plays its season finale on November 2 at Monmouth College at 11:00 a.m.  The Fighting Scots (10-4-2, 6-1-2 MWC) have tied their last two opponents on the road – Lake Forest College (1-1) on Saturday and Carroll University (2-2) on Sunday.
