Box Score Monmouth, IL – The Prairie Fire's season ended with a 5-0 Midwest Conference loss to Monmouth College on Saturday.
The Fighting Scots (11-4-2, 7-1-2 MWC) finished second in the MWC standings and will play in the conference tournament next week. St. Norbert College, the league's regular season champion, is hosting the tournament.
Knox (6-12, 0-10 MWC) was unable to get off a shot against Monmouth. The Scots scored twice in the first 11 minutes, and then added another goal in the 36th minute to lead 3-0 at the intermission.
Monmouth scored twice in the second half – in the 56th and 62nd minutes – for the final goals of the contest.

Rachael Koene (Golden Valley, MN, Benilde-St. Margaret's) and first-year
Theresa Birzer (Fort Dodge, IA, Fort Dodge) both played in goal for the Prairie Fire. Koene recorded four saves in nearly 64 minutes and Birzer added one save in 26 minutes.
