Memorial Gymnasium for the first time this season against Augustana College and MacMurray College on Wednesday, September 10. The match against Augustana starts at 3:00 p.m. followed by the contest with MacMurray at 7:00 p.m.

Knox 0Knox resumed play on the second and final day of the tournament against unbeaten North Central College, which was playing its final match after posting wins in the field against Marian (3-0), Central (3-2), and Aurora (3-2). The Cardinals got off to a fast start with a 25-12 first set win against the Prairie Fire. Knox picked up its play over next two sets, but North Central took the second 25-18 and the third 25-22 for their eighth straight victory to begin the season. Junior

Rose Griffin (Maryland Heights, MO, Rosati-Kain) added six kills, three blocks, and seven digs to share team-high honors with sophomore

Friday, September 5Marian 3
Knox 2Knox and Marian engaged in a scoring slugfest that came down to a tiebreaking fifth set. The Prairie Fire stormed out to a 25-13 win in the first set. The Sabres (3-4) came back to take the second set 25-16 before Knox (1-6) gained a 2-1 edge in the match by prevailing 25-23 in the third set. Marian, however, wouldn't go away and won the fourth set 25-19.  The Sabres came away with a 15-9 victory in the fifth set for a 3-2 match win. Three Knox players reached double-figures in kills: first-year
Kyleigh Guthals (Clovis, NM, Clovis) had 16 to go with a team-high 23 digs, junior
Jamie Blue (Urbana, IL, University) added 13 kills, and first-year
Rose Griffin (Maryland Heights, MO, Rosati-Kain) tallied 10 kills and 19 digs. Junior
Casey Stachelski (Joliet, IL, Plainfield Central) also had a big afternoon with a career-high 44 assists. Knox resumes play on Saturday against North Central College at 12:00 p.m.
North Park 3
Knox 0Host North Park (1-4) defeated the Prairie Fire 25-15, 25-16, 25-20 on Friday in the tournament's first match. First-year Rose Griffin (Maryland Heights, MO, Rosati-Kain) had five kills and three blocks, sophomore Nicole Heckman (Chicago, IL, Chicago Latin) contributed four kills and one block, first-year Kyleigh Guthals (Clovis, NM, Clovis) recorded eight digs, and junior Casey Stachelski (Joliet, IL, Plainfield Central) led Knox with 15 assists. The Prairie Fire (1-5) will try to get back in the win column in the second match of the day on Friday against Marian University.
