GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire volleyball team took care of Robert Morris-Springfield in three sets.
Knox (6-19) jumped out to an early 11-4 lead in the first set, but the Eagles worked it back to a 12-12 tie. Knox finished off RMU scoring 13 of the last 17 points to claim the set. The Prairie Fire and the Eagles played back and forth at the beginning of set two, but Knox took command with a 15-9 advantage and cruised to a 25-17 win. The Prairie Fire took command early and would not relinquish the lead despite some tough play from the Eagles. Knox used a 4-0 run to take a 14-8 lead and finished RMU off with a 25-18 set three victory.
Keiyah Triplett (Chicago, IL, Westinghouse) led the Prairie Fire with 31 digs,
Rachael Powell (Indianapolis, IN, Lawrence Central) chipped in 36 assists, and
Rose Griffin (Maryland Heights, MO, Rosati-Kain) picked up 13 kills.
The Prairie Fire travel to conference rival Monmouth on October 26.
