Box Score The Prairie Fire women's soccer team opened their season with a 2-0 victory at Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) on September 1.

Knox and the Scarlet Hawks played to a scoreless tie through much of the first half until Kayla Brown (Roseville, CA, Wilton Christian) scored with less than five minutes on the clock. The Prairie Fire picked up another goal at the 56:54 mark to finish the scoring.  Yvette Rodriguez (Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Rancho Cucamonga) assisted Jessica Petersen (Brooklyn Park, MN, Champlin Park) on the goal.

Knox took 16 total shots to IIT's nine, but the Scarlet Hawks managed six shots on goal to the Prairie Fire's five. Goalkeeper Sierra Daniger (Colorado Springs, CO, Air Academy) saved all six and combined with Kathryn Coseglia to shut out IIT.

Knox returns to action on September 3 in their home opener when they host Westminster College.
