CHICAGO, Illinois—The Prairie Fire volleyball team earned their first win of the season during the North Park University Classic over the weekend.

Knox (1-13) fell to the hosts 3-1 on Friday afternoon, winning the third set 25-20 after dropping the first two sets 16-25 and 14-25. The Vikings came out strong again in the fourth set with a 25-16 victory.
Keiyah Triplett (Chicago, IL, Westinghouse) kept up her scorching pace with 20 more digs.
Maddie Byrne (Houston, TX, Clear Springs) and
Kyleigh Guthals (Clovis, NM, Clovis)each had seven kills, while Byrne added a team-high seven assists.

The Fire turned around and played Nebraska Wesleyan on Friday night falling in straight sets 15-25, 6-25, and 21-25. Guthals managed 14 digs to lead Knox while Byrne and
Rose Griffin (Maryland Heights, MO, Rosati-Kain) had five kills apiece.

The Prairie Fire picked up their play when facing a conference opponent and defeated Beloit in four sets, 25-22, 17-25, 25-17, and 25-21.
Emily Mosher (Glen Ellyn, IL, Glenbard West) accumulated 33 assists and Triplett added 28 more digs. Byrne led the team with 13 kills, but Griffin (12) and Guthals (10) added double digits as well.

Aurora got the best of Knox in the final match of the tournament winning in three sets, 25-13, 25-11, 25-15. Triplett tacked on 16 digs,
Rachael Powell (Indianapolis, IN, Lawrence Central) managed nine assists, and Griffin picked up eight kills.

The Prairie Fire travel to MacMurray on September 21 where they will also face Robert Morris-Springfield.
