Women's Soccer Extends Shutout Streak to Nine

GALESBURG, Illinois - It appears that the Prairie Fire women's soccer team will never let up a goal this season as they recorded their ninth consecutive shutout to start the season. Knox (8-0-1) defeated Simpson (1-5-2) by a score of 3-0.
 
Jessica Petersen (Brooklyn Park, MN, Champlin Park) had another great game for the Fire as she scored two goals on the day, her seventh and eighth of the season respectively. The Fire had 22 total shots on the day, 13 of them on goal. The third and final goal of the match came from Yvette Rodriguez (Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Rancho Cucamonga) in the 56th minute.
 
Sierra Daniger (Colorado Springs, CO, Air Academy) had a solid game in goal for Knox as she recorded yet another shutout, recording 5 saves for the day.

The Fire will open up their conference season on September 24 when they travel to Appleton, Wisconsin to take on Lawrence University.
