GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire men's tennis team opened their season with a losses to Aurora and Simpson on Saturday.

Knox (0-2) got a strong performance from Minh Le (Hanoi, Vietnam, Yen Hoa School) in the opener against Aurora. He defeated his counterpart in the #1 slot 4-6, 6-4, 10-6. Newcomer Mahmood Ali Khan (Swat, Pakistan, Aitchison College) earned a win against Simpson with a decisive 6-0, 6-1 victory. Jared Schwarz (Glen Ellyn, IL, Glenbard South) and Swarup Ryuusaki (Bhubaneswar, India, Shastri Smarak Secondary School) teamed up to win their doubles match 8-5 over Simpson in the #2 doubles slot.

The Prairie Fire return to action on February 11 when they travel to Dubuque.
