Box Score FULTON. Missouri—The Prairie Fire men's soccer team played to a 2-2 tie with Westminster after two overtimes on Saturday night.
Knox (1-0-1) held a 2-1 lead over the Blue Jays at halftime, but Westminster rallied back with a goal early in the second half.
Lucas Sanchez (Sao Paulo, Brazil, Pueri Domus) started the scoring with his second goal of the season at the 16:49 mark. The Blue Jays responded late in the first half with a goal of their own, but Knox responded right back when
Santiago Medina (Cordoba, Argentina, Jakarta International School) found the net just seven minutes later.
Goalkeeper Andrew Hind made five saves while facing seven shots on goal. The Blue Jays took 15 total shots, while the Prairie Fire reeled off 23 total shots.
"We felt like we gave one away, but credit to Adam and his team as they just kept coming. Their future stays bright," said head coach Tyler Sheikh. "Having gone up 1-0 and 2-1 we feel good about our future this season too. Tonight was a good learning experience in how to close out a game."
Knox will look to remain undefeated when they travel to the University of Chicago on Monday.
