GALESBURG, Illinois—The Prairie Fire volleyball game fell 0-3 to Ripon in conference match on Friday night.

The Redhawks took an early 10-4 lead in the opening set, but Knox battled back to a 15-12 deficit. Ripon went a small run, but Knox responded with a run of their own and trailed 21-17 late in the set. The Redhawks held on to win the first set 25-19.

The Prairie Fire held a 9-7 lead in the second set, but Ripon soon took a 13-11 lead. Knox retook the lead at 15-14, but the Redhawks scored 11 of the next 15 points to earn the victory in the second set.

In the third set, Ripon took a 9-6 lead in the early going. The Prairie Fire stormed back to within two, but the Redhawks still led 13-11. After some back-and-forth, Ripon held on the a 25-19 victory to take the match.

Kylie Wolf led Knox with 23 assists, while Mady Ferris added 21 digs to maintain her digs per set average above 7.0. She is currently fourth in the nation in digs per set. Autumn Schneider picked up seven kills and Marissa Akers and Kaitlyn Haase each managed six of their own. Akers had two solo blocks while Schneider and Wolf each picked up a block assist.

"It was great to recognize our two managers on senior night before the game," said head coach Ashley McDonough. "Val Froeming and Kyle Yang have given a lot to the program with their dedication."

The Prairie Fire return to action on October 20 to host Beloit for Homecoming.
