GALESBURG, Illinois - The Prairie Fire men's tennis team dropped a pair of home matches on Saturday to St. Ambrose and Greenville.
Knx (0-6) fell 1-8 in both matches, but did have several strong performances.
Jared Schwarz picked up a hard fought singles win against his counterpart from St. Ambrose, winning 4-6, 6-2, 1-0. Schwarz and Minh Le also played to a tough 6-8 loss in their doubles match in the opener. Le lost 4-6, 2-6 in his singles match as well and Matt Bailey played a close 4-6, 1-6 match as well.
In the afternoon match against Greenville, Brad Newland earned a victory at #5 singles with a 6-2, 7-6 (8-6) match. Bailey also played another close one, falling 2-6, 2-6.
The Prairie Fire will return to action on March 28 in their conference opener at Monmouth.
