RIPON, Wisconsin - The Prairie Fire volleyball team lost to Ripon 3-0 in a conference match on Friday night.
The first set was tied 3-3 early, but Ripon scored 19 of the next 22 points to take a commanding lead and earn a 25-8 victory in the set.
The Red Hawks took an early 6-1 lead in the second set, but Knox stormed back to take a 7-6 lead. Ripon took a 17-13 lead, but the Prairie Fire tied the set at 18-18. The Red Hawks went on a 7-2 run to earn a 25-20 win in the second set.
Ripon took a 12-9 lead in the third set before Knox tied the score up at 12-12. The Red Hawks took control from there and won the set 25-17.
Catessa Duran led the Prairie Fire with 9 kills. Mady Ferris added 21 digs and Kylie Wolf notched 12 assists.Â
"This was a setback for us," said head coach Pat Barry. "We will have to regroup tomorrow and finish this last week strong."
Knox travels to Lake Forest on October 19.
