GALESBURG, Illinois – The Prairie Fire volleyball lost to St. Norbert 3-0 in a conference matchup on Saturday. St. Norbert came into the game on a five game winning streak, while the Prairie Fire entered on a three game streak of their own.

St. Norbert took the first three points of the first set before a rally by the Prairie Fire tied the game back up. Catessa Duran got the first kill of the game for Knox. The first set was back-and-forth before St. Norbert took a 14-7 lead.Â

The Prairie Fire rallied back and cut the deficit to as little as four, but St. Norbert's seven point lead would prove to be insurmountable as Knox fell 25-20.

The Green Knights had another hot start during the second set. The score was 6-1 before the Prairie Fire had to call a timeout. The Prairie would find their footing after the first kill of the set by Duran. Four consecutive points had the Prairie Fire trailing by only three, but St. Norbert just kept on the attack before winning the match 25-13.

With their backs against the wall in the third set, the Prairie Fire got off to a hot start. Early in the set the Prairie Fire led 7-6, but fell victim to another run by the Green Knights. After taking a 16-12 lead, St. Norbert went on a seven point run. However, the Prairie Fire scored six consecutive points to cut the deficit to 23-18. However, St. Norbert won the set 25-19.

Catessa Duran led both teams in kills with 10. Katie Anderson added 14 assists and Mady Ferris notched 13 digs.

The Prairie Fire travel to Cornell College on October 8. Â
