CHICAGO, Illinois—The Prairie Fire volleyball team fell to Roosevelt 0-3 on Saturday afternoon.

Knox fell behind early in the first set and was unable to make much headway en route to a 14-25 loss.

The Prairie Fire put up quite a fight in the second set, trailing just 11-13 in the middle of the set. The Lakers took control from there and earned a 25-14 victory.

Knox held an early 7-6 lead in the third set, but Roosevelt soon took a 10-7 lead. The Prairie Fire forced 11-11 and 14-14 ties in the middle of the set and remained close until the Lakers scored the last five points to win 25-18.

Catessa Duran and Autumn Schneider each tallied six kills to lead Knox. They each added two blocks. Katie Anderson notched 13 assists.

""We faced a tough team today, but still saw some good things," said head coach Pat Barry. "We fought in each set despite some early rough patches. I see this as a step in the right direction despite the loss."

Knox returns home on September 25 to battle Illinois College in the Midwest Conference opener.
